Do Right is proud to announce the release of Elizabeth Shepherd’s third studio album ‘Heavy Falls The Night’ on March 16, 2010. Elizabeth’s debut ‘Start To Move’ (2006) and follow-up ‘Parkdale’ (2008) were both JUNO nominated and described as “pushing the boundaries of jazz”. With her new album, she pushes well past those boundaries to carve out her own niche of smart, sophisticated and adventurous music.

It’s also the first album that Elizabeth’s produced herself. The album was recorded over 15 months in Toronto, mixed by studio ace Scott Lake (Sam Roberts, City and Colour), and features some of Canada’s finest players, including long-time collaborators Scott Kemp (bass) and Colin Kingsmore (drums).

Elizabeth's rhythmically intricate, groove-oriented tunes, sincere lyrics and distinct, soulful voice have earned her a worldwide following, and her fans will certainly not be disappointed by the explorations on this new record. Critics, hipsters and music aficionados from London to Tokyo have been spreading the word for a few years now, and will surely continue to embrace her music. But more importantly, with 'Heavy Falls the Night', Elizabeth Shepherd is destined to reach music lovers everywhere.

She will be playing Tokyo's Cotton Club from February 24th to 26th, coinciding with the Japanese release of Heavy Falls the Night. North American touring will begin on March 13 at Glenn Gould Studios in Toronto and run through the summer of 2010, while European dates are scheduled for the fall.
